In November, the Alliance innovates. This month is dedicated to photography. Following the photographic meetings of Arles and as part of the Indian Photography Now 08 program (IPN 08) organized by the French Embassy in India, two French photographers come to Pondicherry for a residency. On this occasion, our cultural program is especially devoted to them. Exhibitions, conferences, meetings… unique opportunities to discover the world of photography through their experiences and testimonials.
The Alliance organizes the DELF exams, a worldly-recognized degree in French language. Registration is going on till 7th November.
The Alliance trains its future French teachers during a formation week in collaboration with Dominique Frin, expert from the French embassy in India.
The Alliance diversifies its formations by offering new classes: conversation, computing, “preparation to life in France”, and intercultural.

Pascal Monteil, photographer, globe-trotter, and world discoverer, exhibits the portraits taken in the course of his numerous trips. He will also meet the public of the Alliance to tell about his travelling project ‘Spirits of the cities’.
Anne Maniglier, photographer and iconographer, exhibits her diptych pictures ‘Dancescapes’ in which the art and the street mingle. She will also lead a special Jeudis de l’Alliance during which she will present some pictures on India clicked by the photographers of the Magnum agency and tell about the life of Homaï Vyarawalla, first Indian woman journalist. An exceptional character who photographed India at the time of Raj and after the Independence.
Funny Wednesdays, twice per month, come to have fun in the Alliance!
The animation movie ‘Princes et Princesses’, directed by Michel Ocelot will be screened for kids and grown ups. Marie-Paule Hutin will once again share the magic of her fairytales with the children.
Le cinéma du dimanche is dedicated to Indian cinema. Discover India and its cinematographic culture through a panorama of recent hindi, bengali and telugu movies. (with English subtitles).
